Description
A group name designating the naturally occurring pyridine derivatives having vitamin B6 activity. Essential for the dehydration and desulfhydration of animo acids and for the normal metabolism of tryptophan; appears to be related to fat metabolism. Pyridoxine is required in the nutrition of all species of animals.
